No 3. Pyotr Velikiy
Wrongly assumed to be a battle cruiser due to her massive size, the Pyotr Velikiy, also known as Peter the Great, is one of Russia’s top of the line nuclear-powered heavy missile cruiser. She was commissioned in 1996, ten years after the construction had started, due to many economic strains. She is the flagship of the Northern fleet. Pyotr Velikiy along with the Russian missile cruiser Moskva is due to arrive in Russia’s Far Eastern port of Vladivostok to take part in the Vostok-2010 large-scale strategic exercise.
