No 6. USS Missouri (SSN-780)
It is the seventh ship of the Virginia-class nuclear powered submarines. It is obviously named after a US state. It was built by the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics Corporation. Missouri’s sponsor is Becky Gates, who is the wife of Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. It was commissioned on 31st of July, 2010. Watch the commissioning of USS Missouri below.

No 5. HMS Astute (S119)
The lead ship of her class of nuclear-powered Fleet submarines, the HMS Astute (S119) was launched in 2007. She is planned to be commissioned in late 2010 and is said to be one of the most ‘advanced submarines in the world’ when commissioned. It will have a capacity of 109 personnel.
