Top 10 Nightmare Places In The World

7. Hodge Close Quarry

7Situated in UK, this quarry is more famous as a diving spot since there are caves which can only be entered via underground passages. Why is it in this list? Well, wait till the water around it is calm and then have a look as photographer Peter Bardsley did. An image of a skull is formed, half above water and the other half on the reflection on water. The site is covered with mist due to a chilling water temperature of 6 degrees.

6. Namaskaro

6Located right at the foot of Mt. Namafjall, Namaskaro is known as ‘Gateway to Valhalla’ due to the unearthly feel that surrounds it. The ground is covered with solfaratas, volcanic gases and spouts of sulfur filled steam. The region has a constant haze over it as well due to the steam and gases.

5. Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park

5The Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park in Madagascar has been shaped by water into a deadly place. Rock that is needle like climbs up to a height of 120 m. The rock is razor sharp and is breeding ground for hundreds of species that are not found anywhere. It is visually scary enough, but here’s another interesting fact; it is quite under-researched due to the fact that it is hard to travel deep into the forest. Have a look!

4. Perito Moreno Glacier

4The glacier Perito Moreno is advancing across Lake Argentino steadily. The towering glacier which is 74 m high above water and extends 170 m below the surface of water is a wasteland of ice shards and snow. Constituted by deep ravines and ice peaks, this glacier stands at number 4 on our list.
