Tether your iPhone to Linux operating system

Most of the Companies do not support Linux operating system. Apple is also one of them. It would be great if any Company adds extra functionalities in products. Now Apple offers Linux support to tether iPhone device. That’s pretty awesome.

Most of the people don’t know what is tethering. Here you will get the answer. If you connect your iPhone to laptop and share 3G connection, then you can access internet without WI-Fi- connection. This process is known as tethering and you have to give payment to carrier.

On your iPhone, make sure that tethering is enabled. To make it enable, you need to chat with representative of AT&T or Verizon and register for plan that supports it.

If your iPhone is jailbroken, then alternate option is to install MyWi or iTether applications that enable tethering functionality.

In Ubuntu terminal write this command “sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pmcenery/ppa “ and then press “Enter” from keyboard. Let it to do its work for a while.

To update write the command “sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pmcenery/ppa”. Now you need to download and then install the package by command “sudo apt-get install ipheth-utils”. Once it finished, restart your laptop.

Now come towards last step. If you are tethering with Bluetooth, connect iPhone to PC before enable tethering. If you are tethering with USB, enable tethering and then connect to PC. Restart your PC and it will work fine.
