Redsn0w 0.9.8 beta 2 available for iOS 5 Tethered Jailbreak on iOS devices

For developers, Apple has relased another new software namely iOS 5 beta 3. Beside this, it also released iTunes 10.5 beta 3. Few issues were arisen while adopting iOS 5 beta and then jailbreaking it. Users were unable to open the applications that were installed from store app. Another issue was that there was a lot of bugging in Cydia and it would crash whatever package was installed.

To fix these problems, iPhone dev team has introduced an update for redsn0w. Work started very quickly on it and now you can get redsn0w 0.9.8 beta 2 for both OS: Windows and Mac.

If your device is jailbroken by using redsn0w 0.9.8 beta 1 then don’t install iOS beta 3. All you need is to use new redsn0w beta for tethered booting. Now you will point redsn0w towards iOS 5beta 3 ipsw instead of iOS 5 beta 1 ipsw.

Keep in mind, don’t try to upgrade iPhone to stock iOS 5 beta firmware if you fully depend on software unlock for your device because there is no unlock available. Your baseband will go for upgrade and your unlock will be lost.
