Recently, Students of Ashton University earned the “Shell’s Eco Design Award” by creating a light weight and environment friendly car that was capable of high speed and endurance. It also featured a unique design and most of all, it is environmental friendly. Combination of plywood and cardboard makes the car very fast and also very economical on fuel. Tires of the car are made by bio-resins, infused with hessian fibers, making them ideal for tracks.
The car is said to be hitting the Sepang International circuit Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at Shell’s Eco marathon 2013 event, it will be followed by a next event that will take place in Manila, Philippines 2014. It will be exciting to watch this cardboard car competing with other cars on track. For Now, Lets keep our fingers crossed!
