7 Everyday Use Inventions of the Second World War



Ray Bans

Now considered luxury glasses, the Ray Bans were actually developed to help soldiers during war. The purpose of their development was to create a type of lens that would prevent headache in military pilots during flight. In addition, the glasses did give the pilots a sense of style.




If it wasn’t for the Government Code and Cipher School we might not have computers as we know them today. During the Second World War, British code-brakers developed a machine that would help them break codes faster and with more efficiency. This machine was named Colossus and it’s considered the first electronic computer.
