Elephant Land in Chiba, Japan is not like your average zoo. The huge mammals get to hang out with the visitors in very close quarters. The intimacy doesn’t seem to scare off the visitors or the elephants – everyone seems to be having fun. The owner is an eccentric lady who gets to hang out with elephants all day and swing from their trunks while watching little kids play with animals. She also treats the cute baby elephants as if they are her children…
