As the number of deaths of cyclists travelling on roads increase each year, this new technology will definitely help to lower those rates. The impressive technology will improve the relationship between road-users of every sort as it can project signals on the cyclists’ backs. Azerbaijani designer, Elnur Babayev, developed the Cyclee to display different illuminated signs depending on the rider’s actions.
The small, bike-mounted device would project symbols, words and signs, which can be modified on mobile devices, and transferred to the projector, displaying the appropriate signal on the cyclist’s back. In order to accommodate the wide range of bike designs, a variety of mounts are being created. A spectrum of colors will also be made to allow fashion conscious riders to have the Cyclee device color match with that of their bike.
