See Why This Horrendous Indonesian Zoo is Called the “Zoo of Death”

Warning: Graphic images featuring abused and neglected animals below.

The Surabaya Zoo in Indonesia, also known as Kebun Binatang Surabaya (KBS), was founded way back in 1916 and became one of the largest zoos in South East Asia. Due to widespread allegations of mistreatment, corruption, and uncontrolled breeding, it has gained a rather negative reputation and caused public outrage as well. Roughly 25 wildlife animals die every month due to pitiable conditions, mostly due to starvation and malnourishment. Some of which are even considered as endangered animals.

The photos already speak for themselves, and it’s about time that we help in making a change through this petition to close Surabaya Zoo and hire reputable professionals to give immediate medical attention to the emaciated and sick animals.

And if the above images aren’t enough, some Reddit users claim that the most valuable parts of the animals that died, were also being sold to illegal wildlife trade. This really has to stop once and for all.
