iOS 4.2.10 ipsw is now available for Verizon CDMA iPhone 4

Apple has put new product into market with the name iOS 4.3.4/4.2.9 that is available for iPad, iPod touch and iPhone or Verizon CDMA iPhone4. Now Apple has released another version iOS 4.2.10 ipsw for Verizon CDMA iPhone 4.

One question that definitely comes in our mind is why Apple introduced iOS 4.3.4 in the very first place. The answer is as iOS 4.3.4 is used to vulnerability of patch in Safari device; and JailbreakMe used that to jailbreak the iPad  on iOS devices. Reason behind releasing PDF Patcher 2 in Cydia is to patch exploit by allowing you to keep the jailbreak. To patch that vulnerability, Apple had no choice except to release the new Apple software. This is the reason behind introducing iOS 4.3.4/4.2.9 to market.

There are no extended changes that you will see in iOS 4.2.10. Handling security issue with certificate validation is added into new generation iOS 4.2.10 that is applicable for Verizon iPhone 4.

It’s very simpler to restore Verizon iPhone 4 to iOS 4.2.10. Download iOS 4.2.10 from the link given as: http://appldnld.apple.com/iPhone4/041-1959.20110721.jvP29/iPhone3,3_4.2.10_8E600_Restore.ipsw

After download, connect your device to iTunes. Hold on the alt key and click on “Restore” in case you are using Mac operating system. If you are working on Windows, hold shift key instead of alt key and click “Restore”. Connect CDMA Verizon iPhone 4 to PC and explore iTunes. Click on “Download” and then “Install” option. All done!
