To access ISO files (image files), Alcohol and Daemon Tools are some of the popular tools that are used to treat ISO files as virtual CDS or DVDS. The same task can be accomplished by a 60kb free program from Microsoft. Although it does not offer as many functionalities as Alcohol and Daemon Tools does, but still it can be used to access ISO files by mounting them as virtual CDs. This program is compatible with Windows XP Home and Windows XP Professional.
- This program is Virtual CD Rom Control Panel and can be downloaded from http://download.microsoft.com.
- Download the zip file.
- Extract the contents of zipped file.
- Open the readme .txt file as shown in the figure.
- Follow the installation instructions given in the file.
