The organizers did not push for the festival to happen in 2000. This is because of the financial crisis experienced by the Coachella event in 1999.  They also moved the event to April to avoid the heat problem and scaled it down to a one- day event only. And in 2001, the promoters felt that it was time to hold another event again. They were able to book a reunited Jane’s Addiction as the lineup lead which garnered much attention from fans.
