#7, Atatürk Dam, Turkey: 84,500 cubic meters

Ataturk Dam, dam is situated on the river Euphrates in south eastern Turkey, the pride and joy of the South Eastern Anatolia Project. The Ataturk Dam is the largest in a series of 22 dams and 19 hydroelectric stations built on the Euphrates and Tigris rivers in the 1980s and ’90s in order to provide irrigation water and hydroelectricity to arid southeastern Turkey. Completed in 1990, the Ataturk Dam is one of the world’s largest earth-and-rock fill dams, with an embankment 604 feet (184 m) high and 5,971 feet (1,820 m) long.

#6, Tucurui Dam, Brazil: 85,200 cubic meters

The Brazilian enchantment, The Tucurui Dam is a very large dam situated on the river Tocantins in the Amazon/ Tocantins river basin in the eastern part of Brazil. It holds a 2,875 square kilometers reservoir.  The installed generation capacity of the plant is 8,370 MW, with 24 generating units. The main portion Tucuruí Dam is a 78 m high and with a length of 6.9 km concrete-gravity dam. The addition of the Mojú and Caraipé earth-fill dikes increases the total length to 12,515 m. The reservoir seized by the dam has a capacity of 45 cubic kilometers with a live volume of 32 cubic kilometers.

#5, Lower Usuma, Nigeria: 93,000 cubic meters

The lower Usuma Dam situated on the Usuma River in Nigeria. The Dam was built in the year 1990 near Abuja (the capital of Nigeria) and the main purpose at the time was to supply city with clean drinking water. The dam has a capacity to hold approximately 93 million cubic of untreated water, the water from the dam is sent to the water plants and the water is treated there before it is passed to the inhabitants of Abuja.

#4, Fort Peck, Montana: 96,049 cubic meters

The fort Peck Dam is located in northeast Montana in the United States, near Glasgow, and adjacent to the community of Fort Peck. Fort Peck was designed and urbanized by government engineers as the headquarters for creation and maneuver of the huge Fort Peck Dam in 1933. Fort Peck Lake is a Montana treasure for its size and outdoor opportunities. Six amusement areas within a few miles of the dam provide contact for water sports, fishing and hunting. Having a long length of 21,026 feet and a height of 250 feet, it is the biggest hydraulically overflowing dam in the US, and creates Fort Peck Lake, the fifth biggest manmade lake in the United States. The Dam has 5 generating unit and producing a combined energy of 185,250 kilowatts. Three units in powerhouse number one, completed in 1951, generate a total of 105,000 kilowatts. . Completed in 1961, the two remaining generating units in powerhouse number 2 have a power generating capacity of 80,000 kilowatts.
