Thermal Baths
Being a country with around 108 active volcanoes, Japan has thousands of thermal springs. This thermal baths are known as Onsen, and are often divided between men and women sections. This is due to the custom of entering the baths without any clothes at all. In addition to this, it is prohibited to enter an Onsen with tattoos as if is not considered respectful.
