If you’ve ever wanted to feel “cool” by attempting to smoke a joint, but didn’t want to take the risk with the real thing, then your luck might be in. E-Njoint, a Dutch company has invented the world’s first electronic joint. The company has already begun sales at high profile events, parties, bars and clubs across Europe. An estimated 10,000 joints are being manufactured per day thanks to an outsourcing company in China.
Its design mimics the shape of a typical joint and is accompanied by a green cannabis leaf which lights up through the chrome plated tip each time the user takes a puff. The E-Njoint comes in various assortments. One particular variety is disposable and contains no THC, tobacco or nicotine making it “completely harmless” according to the makers. Instead it converts propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin and 100% biological flavor into water vapour.
It is not all “harmless” though as some models can be smoked as realistic joints. The E-Njoint rechargeable can be filled by users with their own liquid content. The product comes in six different flavors: watermelon, passion fruit, green apple and red cherry among other selections and costs approximately £7 per joint.
The company’s website provides a list of all the locations from which E-Njoint can be obtained and went on to suggests that smoking can be both enjoyable and “healthy” at the same time, describing their product as the “latest trend on the market”.
E-Njoint is already is dicussion with Tikun Olam, a business specializing in medicinal marijuana, to help produce products for the health industry.
“Holland is well known in the world for its tolerant and liberal attitude toward soft drugs and the introduction of this new product clearly makes a statement,” said Menno Contant, CEO of E-Njoint.
“As long as you don’t bother or disturb other people and stay within the legal boundaries, all is well,’ he claims. He added: ‘Everyone should feel fine, because what we are doing is no crime.”
