The concept of Assassin’s Creed came up when developers were working on the Prince of Persia video games. What was once thought of as a simple spin off series became its own multi-millionaire franchise. The series became one of the bestselling video game series in history with over 100 million copies sold. Thanks to the finanacial success, the series would then spawn numerous comics, novels and even a film adaptation. It is no wonder that Ubisoft has focused on expanding this universe as it has proved to be an absolute gold mine.
