Many MAC users face the problem of system slow down after some time. In this article we will show you how to overcome this problem by following few simple things.
1. Keep MAC Operating System Up-To-Date:
a. Click on the “Apple” menu
b. Now click on the “Software Update” option.
When you click on this option, MAC operating system checks for updates, if it finds any, it will list them. You can then click on the “install” button to download and have them installed in your system. Note: You have to connect to the internet to get the updates.
2. Organize Your Files:
You should give descriptive names to the files and folders for easy maintenance. Create new folders by using “Shit + N” in the “Finder” and move the files appropriately. By doing so, you can increase the searching speed of “Spotlight”.
Note: This option is only applicable for “Finder”, not in Application, Mail, iTunes or Safari folders.
3. Back Up Your Data:
In case of accidental deletions or any other occurrence of loss of data, you would be able to restore your system from the back up. You can use “Time Machine” option to backup your system, available in Mac OS X v 10.5 or later.
4. Archive or Delete seldom used or Unused Files:
You should compress the seldom used files to have more free space or delete the files which you do not need.
5. Keep Your MAC Clean:
You should keep your Mac System clean, which will increase the system performance in return; for further information go to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3226
