This week at the 19th China Beijing International High-Tech Expo, a scaled model of the bus in operation was demonstrated. A fixed track that will prevent the bus from veering into the traffic is included in the current design on the roadway. The model buses will be operated by electricity to decrease carbon emissions, another key function. The power systems employed for the buses will be set-up similar to modern cable car and light rail techniques.
With all the features coming together to create an eco-friendly, effective public transportation method, the machines are can be likened to a bus, train and cable car being crossed. Having a structure hover over a moving roadway seems dangerous, but it is in the engineers’ every interest to implement safety measures that will address this uneasiness.
