A point in time has come when it’s not enough to say we are going green – reduce, reuse, and recycle – but rather we all need to act together as one in saving the limited resources of our planet for the future generations.
Apple seems to be well aware of this and cares so much that it is striving to improve the current organic light emitting diode (OLED) technology. Although, the screens with existing OLED technology functions at reduced voltages than screens with LCD technology, these OLED screens are big power vampires when displaying the white color.
Therefore, Apple has recently filed a patent showing the company’s efforts in improving the current OLED technology to a more efficient and energy-friendly state. Moreover, Apple is particularly interested in how OLED technology could improve the battery life and make the displays of all its iDevices more vivid and beautiful.
