It turns out that humans aren’t the only species on Earth that find smartphones quite entertaining. This was recently proven in Kentucky at the Louisville Zoo. A footage that emerged on Youtube showed a man sitting with a gorilla named Jelani with a saftey glass between them as they check out the device. As the phone is held up against the window, photographs are scrolled through while the ape attentively watches. Focusing on the phone, Jelani humorously bends its head slightly to try to see the photos clearly. Once it has seen the image, it looks away and signals with his hand for the man to move on to the next picture.
The man behind the camera recording the moment then ask the man sitting by the glass what he is showing the gorilla and he presents his phone, which showed a man posing with an ape. Later, the gorilla is seen leaning against the wall as the man does the same from the other side of the glass.
“I stumbled upon the boy sharing pictures with Jelani touring the zoo with my one-year-old daughter,” the video maker, Paul Ross, said. “The boy was scrolling through gorilla pictures, and Jelani would motion with his hand to move to the next photo.”
