Road safety is one of the most important issues in today’s advance world. One moment of unconsciousness could advance anyone to death. For bikers Dr. Marcus Weller comes with a solution with his most high-tech and safety-focused helmet which is actually more than an ordinary helmet. He is founder and CEO of Skully AR-1 Helmet. Before let you know about the Skully AR-1 Helmet, you should know the reason why he came up with this safe helmet. The reason is, he met with number of road accidents due to lack of few things which inspires him to complete those things which could make a big difference towards road safety for bikers.
He had started thinking about the helmet which could give him clearer scenes of behind him, HUD Directions and GPS. In the talk with Cnet, he tells why clearer view of what’s behind you is important without actually looking in side mirror. He said, it actually distract the rider when he look down in the side mirror for the rear’s side view of the bike and it take considerable time to focus on the front view. In this fraction of time it could make a big difference which could be disastrous for the biker. He said once he woke up at midnight and spent some time and came up a conclusion, this helmet must exist in the world. His words were: “At the time, I didn’t even have a motorcycle, but I was ready to spend money on it, which made me realize that I needed to build it.”
He is actually using network of sensors, microprocessors, and a camera with which it is able to produce a display which will provide the information approximately ten feet in front of the rider with GPS navigation as well. They are calling it the Synapse platform which automatically adjusts infinitely variable focal distance which will provide clear display with information regardless of where the driver is looking. Their team also built the helmet with provision of 180-degree view of what’s behind the rider. The campaign has been started a few days ago for the pre-order of Skully Helmets and target was $250,000 but it crosses the mark of one million dollar.
