See What Inspired Some of the Most Iconic Pin-Up Shots During the 50s

Now this is art literally imitating life.

These images defined the pin-up era during the 1950s and it was all thanks to renowned painter Gil Evren, who is the best pin-up artist in the history of American illustration. Curvy and sultry is the name of the game when it comes to these paintings; and while we’ve only seen the end results before, now it’s time to see the actual shots from where Evren derived his inspiration to create these legendary images.

It’s quite interesting and intriguing to see how some paintings were altered as though it went through Photoshop… women became more curvy and adapted a rather cartoonish effect as well. And most of all, their best assets were exaggerated even moreso. Quite fascinating, isn’t it?
