A Virtual Joke That Eats into the Real World

Imagine you’re on top of a rollercoaster and you suddenly fall off. Presently, it’s easy to deal with such a situation because we are talking about an imagination. Really, what would happen if it happened in real life?

The Oculus Rift is a virtual reality head mounted display that lets gamers drift off to the virtual world. It is capable of making the user identify with any action or atmosphere that is in existence within the virtual world. Therefore, an individual playing a rollercoaster game via Oculus Rift is bound to become edgy.

Most gamers prefer Oculus Rift because it has a way of making things appear real.  That experience is what most players are in search of. They want to be in such a situation. A situation which makes it easier for them to relate to the game as a result of the emotions evoked.

In Russia, a young man visited a mall and decided to test an Oculus Rift. Having chosen to play rollercoaster the guy puts on the development kit and is immediately sucked in the game. When the roller coaster reaches the top and the guy becomes edgy, a friend of his creeps from nowhere and stands behind him. Intentionally, the friend pulls his fellow back. The young man who was immersed in a game starts making movements aimed at saving himself. Regardless of the support from his friend from the back, the guy is still in shock. This is because he is fully absorbed into the game and when he is pulled back he thinks that he is falling off a rollercoaster. That’s why he makes an effort to ascertain himself. He only becomes aware that his fear was just an illusion when he takes off the Oculus Rift development kit.
