Here comes another interesting research! Now you can produce a fraction of electricity from oranges to charge your iphone. We already heard about the photographer who created the so called ‘Orange powered battery’ for his photography lighting. Now a group of science geeks have pushed the limits by connecting dozens of oranges together to produce enough electricity to charge an iphone.
Talking about the working of this process, what actually happens is that the electricity generated by the oranges comes from a chemical reaction. Zinc nails in the segment along with the citric acid in the orange react to produce light. So using this simple concept, the group joined hundreds of oranges in a circuit and used the electricity to charge the iphone. Though its almost an inconsiderable light, but still its a new dimension for the future.
