Sensors have advanced beyond the limits of human expectations. Now a sensor can detect more than the human senses. Professor Hossam Haick along with his team members at Technion-Israel Institute of Technology developed an artificial skin capable of sensing temperature, Humidity, weather and changes in the environment. According to him these flexible sensors consume less power, are cheap to manufacture, and display consistent performance throughout.
Professor Hossam said this invention can be manipulated to solve many future problems. The device is a kind of artificial flexible sensor made of gold particles along with resin that can be embedded in electronic skin. The sensor is very delicate, like a petal of a flower. Unlike Human skin it can also sense pressure and can be used in many different applications. If it comes into production, it will no doubt have many uses.
