Benefits of HDMI cables

HDMI (High-definition multimedia interface) cables are one of the most used types of cables for both high definition video and high resolution audio. Given the increasing popularity of these video and audio formats you can easily see the need for HDMI Cable
HDMI cables have replaced many other types of cables over the past few years. There are many reasons for the rise of the HDMI cable. For one, the HDMI cable produces the best quality picture of any other cable types that can be found on the market today. HDMI cables are capable of supporting high definition video of up to 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second. It might be noted that currently this is the most intense video format and only HDMI cables can support it.
HDMI cables have proven to be better than many other sorts of cables. In the past, other cables have been used such as the PC-based DVI connections. While these did offer comparable quality they are obsolete on today’s HDTV and similar video components. Another cable that was used prior to HDMI was component video cables. These can be found on many output high-definition electronics but they do not provide the same high quality image as do HDMI cables. This is also true for S-video, composite and RF which are types of standard definition video cables.

Not only are HDMI cables excellent for video images but they also produce high quality audio sounds. HDMI cables have the capability to transmit eight channels of 24 bit audio at 192kHz. To put this into perspective, HDMI cables are able to successfully handle high resolution audio soundtracks without compromising the quality. This would include such audio formats as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. In order to get the same quality out of analog audio cables as the HDMI cable, you would need to utilize 8 individual cables. This is yet another example of how superior HDMI cables are to other formats. Other sorts of audio cables such as digital audio cables, whether they are coaxial or optical, still can’t hold a candle to the HDMI cable. These other audio cables only transmit low resolution audio signals.
