HDMI cables have replaced many other types of cables over the past few years. There are many reasons for the rise of the HDMI cable. In order to get the same quality out of analog audio cables as the HDMI cable, you would need to utilize 8 individual cables. This is yet another example of how superior HDMI cables are to other formats. Other sorts of audio cables such as digital audio cables, whether they are coaxial or optical, still can’t hold a candle to the HDMI cable. These other audio cables only transmit low resolution audio signals.
