But the A-10 is way more maneuverable. ricklude October 29, 2010 / Reply @youngbill69 It would seem your one of those ass holes who hide behind behind their keyboard and can’t take a hint. These communications ARE over! EOM youngbill69 October 29, 2010 / Reply @ricklude seems I hit a nerve Mr Keyboard Warrior you 🙂 kosiak10851 October 29, 2010 / Reply Such propaganda. I am serious, A-10 is old cold war era shit. It is becoming outdated. I know A-10C is modified and modernised, but what will be next? Future Weapons B-52 upgrade? Rusty shit. 13mattjr October 29, 2010 / Reply these planes need sharks teeth on them…i had a toy one when i was a kid i thot it was soooo coool ricklude October 29, 2010 / Reply @youngbill69 An opinion? No, a fact! “Chill”!? Howabout speaking english, not “cool dude” slang PLUS, I’m not an “old timer”. . schmuck. You have nerve commenting about my grammer. What about, “There IS loads out there. . . “. It’s ARE loads kid. As for what YOU expect from anyone, who cares!? Who are YOU? A 42 YEAR OLD, wise ass punk, big mouth. BIG DEAL! Kid, go find a life, go back to school, LEARN something, get a real job, and grow up already. Go feed your twisted, dumb ego elsewhere. youngbill69 October 29, 2010 / Reply @ricklude Ok, chill old timer… IMO you gave an opinion and never educated anyone. but as I said its just IMO. You’ve shown your aviation knowledge by “challenging” someone regarding naming a weapons platform designed around the weapon. There is loads out there, not just the A 10. From an ex Firefighter I’d have expected more 🙁 What about the F 14 though eh? 😉 By the way, its HAND 😉 ricklude October 29, 2010 / Reply @youngbill69 1st off, I am not your man, Mr. “boy”. 2nd Because someone does have the aquired knowledge to pass along and educate someone even slightly, does not make them anal. Speaking of which, aren’t YOU who is being the extreme anal AND rude one? Didn’t know the “spelling police” were on duty, watching so close. Furthermore, next time raise your had before shouting out an answer child. youngbill69 October 29, 2010 / Reply @ricklude man your anal, and use bad spelling/grammar for an old timer… F14 & AIM 54 Phoenix, streamingmadly October 29, 2010 / Reply @ricklude I believe that would be the F-15, which was designed around it’s radar system. I’m giving you 24 hrs to leave Iraq. ricklude October 29, 2010 / Reply @streamingmadly Glad to hear that. Nither do I. I do however flight “sim” and after having a 45 year great & personal interest in aerospace technology and manned flight, both civil and military, I do KNOW what I’m talking about. Do you? Appears NOT to be the case via your oun statement made, to which BTW, I gave a very excellent and correct answer in reply. Can you even answer what other modern era jet propelled aircraft was built “around” a weapon? I give you 8 hr.s to reply starting now. TREYinGLAMIS October 29, 2010 / Reply @vercint How so? VoodooGypsy October 29, 2010 / Reply The A-10 and AH-1 are my favorite aircraft. vercint October 29, 2010 / Reply good for wars in afghanistan, iraq… but for a war against France, Germany, Canada;; it is dead streamingmadly October 29, 2010 / Reply @ricklude Point taken, but I don’t play pc wargames. ricklude October 30, 2010 / Reply @streamingmadly Yes, because an F-16 can’t carry the numbers of stand off munitions needed to destroy the high numbers of OPFOR armor, light armored, or wheeled vehicles in one sortie. The A-10 was specifically designed AS a multi target GA/CAS weapons system. The gun’s only 1 part of the whole weapon system. “Fighter/bombers” also don’t have the loiter time in an A.O., an A-10a or c does, without having to leave it and/or go thru a time consuming aerial refuel or rearm at their base. ricklude October 30, 2010 / Reply @s8715053122004 Can’t believe “gamers” are compairing a real life weapons system to the make believe junk they have in “games”. At least get a great simulation. LOMAC: Flamming Cliffs 2 is out and DCS A-10c is out as a downloaded public beta right now, but wait for the boxed hard copy disk. With these, at least you get a true idea of how this aircraft works in the real world. BubuBiber October 30, 2010 / Reply 2:17 Boom 8D searay230 October 30, 2010 / Reply @streamingmadly well if the enemy has AA- defense you can fly below radar and use 30mm rounds on ground targets. Take North korea, many mountain passes that you can fly in and destroy 10 tanks in a singel 30mm burst. streamingmadly October 30, 2010 / Reply Since tanks can be destroyed by F-16’s equipped with laser guided bombs, do we really need a aircraft with a 30mm cannon? joeairplane79 October 30, 2010 / Reply 2:56 When they talk about the JDAM being precise, there is an L flashing in the screen, signifying that it was a laser guided munition.
