AND
F-86 Sabre

Compared to today’s fighters both these jets are underpowered and primitive but few aircraft have done so well at the job they were designed to do. Both the F-86 Sabre and MiG 15 were the right aircraft at the right time and each richly deserve a prominent place in aviation history.
Both designs relied heavily on captured German swept-wing technology and British engine design, so for innovation the MiG and Sabre are equally matched. Both fighters were produced in large numbers, but the MiG edges in front of the Sabre in the production category because of its renowned simplicity. Both jets have similar service records. The result? They are inseparable in the rankings: the MiG 15 and F-86 Sabre tie for fourth place.

Hmmmmm, top ten JET fighters, and number 3 is a bi-plane, propeller driven aircraft, hmmm
LOL! the second one would be MiG 1.44
Top 10 fighters planes, including the Sopwith Camel, the Spitfire, and the P-51. Oooo-kay.
What replacements could we suggest? F-16, MiG-21, MiG-29, the Flankers, F-14, Mirage…
Ok, the WWII Planes were their top platforms at the time. But, when you fail to list the F-16/Cobra you fail to mention one of the most innovative and kill crazy planes ever made! Its upgraded 71FBW system was unequaled and we once had a cap that showed the 16 versus the 15 on full burn take offs. The 16 was xfeet out and at 32k station before the 15 knew what was what. Come on. Go back to the first ideal of the 16 and see how it was never meant to hang a bunch of crap all over that plane. Not much for ground support or strat bomb it was a sheer gun fighter that we strapped on. Id put a 16 against anything.
Thanks for your comment Davesintexas. I would agree that F-16 is an excellent aircraft. But if you were to take out one of the listed aircrafts to put F16 in, which aircraft would that be.
Although the count down is quite fair but in my opinion F-16 should be there too, like on 3rd or 4th position so that the count down has something that has really proven but not missed in counting with other superior jets. Thanks man for letting us know about the top 10 – Jet Fighters.
1. This the time we need new 5th Geration Fighters Planes! Is F-22,YF-23,F-35,A,B,C, too! We needs a new fleet of Planes too! Replacements are needed soon agreed! State Mfg, Planes now of 5th Gerations Fighters now! Agreed! The other nations building up a Fleets of new planes to true!! Wake up!!
A small factual point. There is no such engine as the J79 Spey turbojet.
American Phantoms were fitted with the 17000/17900 lb thrust GE J79 turbojet, British Phantoms with the 20500 lb thrust RR Spey turbofan.
epic fail
